A Jackson attorney officially joins the race for secretary of state. Dozens of supporters joined Republican Delbert Hosemann as he kicked off his campaign at the Secretary of State's office.

 

The Vicksburg native unsucessfully ran for congress in 1998 against Democrat Ronnie Shows. He was also a member of the U.S. electoral college for President Bush in 2000.

 

Hosemann is promoting his experience as a real estate developer and a business lawyer in the race for secretary of state. He'll face three other Republicans in the primary.

 

Current Secretary of State Eric Clark is not seeking re-election.
