Hosemann appears to be best candidate for Secretary of State

I had the privilege of working for the Secretary of State’s Office for nearly seven years under the Honorable Eric Clark.
Though I left the agency a few years ago, I have continued to follow its work very closely. When Dr. Clark announced that he would not be running for re-election, like many others I was surprised — and very nervous about who might step up to fill the void.
As various candidates from both parties announced their intentions to run for SOS, I checked them out. Only one struck me as having the intellect, gravitas, and just plain understanding of the kaleidoscope of duties that office has, to assume the role — Delbert Hosemann.
I had never met Mr. Hosemann, but I liked what I saw in his statements. He gets that the Secretary of State’s Office is a multi-tasking agency. It’s not just elections it is public lands, 16th section lands, business services, business and charities regulation, and a ton of other important services that Mississippians rely on.
Delbert Hosemann has policy statements and plans for each of those areas, not just one or two. I also like that Mr. Hosemann is running to be secretary of state — he doesn’t seem to be running for secretary of state to run for something else in four or eight years. He is running to concentrate on THAT office, and it’s an office that requires concentration!
I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican. I just like for government to work well, particularly that state agency where I spent so much time. I truly believe Delbert Hosemann is the best candidate for the job, and encourage voters to support him on Election Day.
